We are sure that you are all excited about your long weekend and many of you will take the time to go out of town, but if you stay there are tons of things to do in Madrid this weekend !
October 12th is the National Day of Spain so students are off school and many people have the day off work. This means that the streets will be filled with people, eating, drinking and feeling patriotic (or at least happy to have the day off).
If you go into the city center, or even just down to the Castellana, there will be a military parade. You might even see the King himself if you are lucky.
At 10 am there is also an airshow - look up into the skies to see military planes do their flips and tricks. It is loud, but impressive.
As the weather is meant to stay absolutely amazing - go to the park! The colors are changing in the Retiro and worth a walk, run, or picnic. Allow yourself to slow down and soak up the last rays of sun this fall.
